The Regulars
They were here long before the tourists arrived, and they will be here long after the last one leaves. A February morning on the California coast, and the beach belongs entirely to the sea lions - dozens of them sprawled across the sand in that particular boneless, blissful way that only a creature with nowhere to be can manage, while the Pacific rolls in behind them and the golden sandstone cliffs rise to the right like they have always done. The La Jolla coastline is one of the few places in California where the wildlife simply refused to negotiate, claimed the best real estate on the beach, and has been holding it ever since. The Regulars is a print for the animal lovers, the California dreamers, and everyone who has ever watched a sea lion do absolutely nothing with complete and total commitment and felt, honestly, a little envious.
