The Carve
June 1975, and somewhere off the California coast, a surfer in a red and yellow jersey is doing something that looks less like surfing and more like flying. Launched off the lip of a deep cobalt blue wave, arms thrown wide for balance, board throwing a spray of white water behind him - this is the carve, that explosive top-of-the-wave turn that separates the surfers from the surfers who really mean it. Whoever was in the water with a camera that June afternoon had the timing, the nerve, and the eye to catch this moment at its absolute peak - and fifty years later it still crackles with the same electric energy it had the instant the shutter clicked. The Carve is a print for the surfers, the wave chasers, and everyone who knows that the best moments in the water last about half a second and stay with you for the rest of your life.
